Twitter: yet another social networking site or web 2.0 phenomenon?

What the world Wide Web needs now is another social networking site, like I need a hole in my head. Twitter on the other hand has proven that finding a niche and providing a simple method for connecting with users is still the right way to design a web application. Twitter, is a service that allows its members to keep their friends and collogues up to date on what they are doing. Unlike Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn and other networking sites that allow users to do the same thing, Twitter has a very simple interface that only asks one question; “what are you doing”?
